From Family Kitchen to Full-Service Catering

Cooking has always been more than just preparing a meal in our home. It’s a hobby we share, a way for our family to come together, and one of the ways we create lasting memories with the people we love. A few years ago, our daughter was fundraising for her cheer uniform. Instead of simply asking friends and family for donations, we decided to do something we already loved doing—cook! We put together some of our favorite dishes, sold plates, and hoped to raise a little money toward her uniform. The response was more than we expected. Not only did we surpass our fundraising goal, but friends and family immediately started asking, “When is the next pop-up?” So, we did another one. Then another. What started as a simple family fundraiser slowly grew into more frequent pop-ups, community events, catering opportunities, and eventually, Kitchen of Flavors by TJ.

In 2022, TJ turned that lifelong passion into Kitchen of Flavors by TJ — a full-service catering company built on the belief that every event deserves food worth remembering. What began as catering for close friends and family quickly grew through word of mouth into a trusted name across San Diego, North County, Murrieta, and Temecula. Today, Kitchen of Flavors by TJ is proudly a family-run business. My wife and kids are a huge part of what we do, along with the family and friends who work behind the scenes to help make every event possible. From prepping and cooking to serving our customers, there is a little bit of our family behind every plate. The food itself is personal, too. Many of my dishes are inspired by the flavors and memories of my grandma’s cooking, while others come from the meals my kids love and request at home. That combination of generations is part of what makes Kitchen of Flavors special—traditional comfort food, family favorites, and our own twist on the flavors we love. At the heart of it all, we’re still doing what started this journey: cooking together, creating memories, and sharing great food with others. I have  a self-taught mastery of multiple cuisines — BBQ, Caribbean, Mexican, Hawaiian,Soul Food, and American classics — to every event. Each menu is crafted from scratch, seasoned with care, and served with the kind of warmth that makes guests feel right at home. We aren’t limited to one type of cuisine—and that’s exactly how we like it. Our menu reflects the different flavors, traditions, and dishes that we enjoy cooking and sharing.
